Fix Dual-Monitor Switch Setup

I have two laptops feeding into an HDMI switch that, in turn, should drive two external monitors. Everything worked until I swapped one of the screens; since then the setup only lets one laptop use the full dual-monitor spread, while the other is stuck on a single display.

Current chain: laptops → HDMI switch → adapter → monitors. The switch itself is HDMI, and the link between it and the screens goes through a USB Type-C Hub Pro adapter. Cables, power, and ports test fine individually, so I suspect a handshake or EDID issue somewhere in that video path.

I need someone who can jump in remotely, verify my cable/port logic, check the switch’s configuration, update any necessary drivers or firmware, and confirm that both laptops can connect through the HDMI switch and see both monitors simultaneously. I’m happy to follow on-screen instructions and provide photos of ports, labels, or the hub if that speeds things up.

Success for me is simple: each separate laptop appears on each separate monitor at native resolution without flicker or blank screens. If that means re-mapping display settings, flashing the hub firmware, or recommending a different cable, I’m open to it—just walk me through the fix.
