Fix DNS for Google Site
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need help moving a custom domain to Google Sites.
Key tasks include:
- Troubleshooting DNS issues
- Updating nameservers to Google
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience with DNS settings
- Familiarity with Google Sites
- Knowledge of domain registrars
Access to my domain registrar's control panel will be provided.
Our church had a wordpress site https://www.alliancechristiancenter.org (previously on HostMonster -- now apparently purchased by BlueHost)
We wanted to use Google Sites as our website platform going forward as there are some leadership transitions at the church, and the Google Site seems easier to maintain with less technical expertise required.
We created the site,
......verified ownership of the domain name with TXT file in the DNS settings.
......Set up 4 "A" records in the DNS

...And set up a CNAME record

...we set up a redirect
alliancechristiancenter.org / https://www.alliancechristiancenter.org/ 301 permanent to Match www. Wildcard
We waited for sometime for all this to propagate.
ISSUES
These links seem to work -- although I am not sure because of caching and propagation issues…perhaps you can try them
alliancechristiancenter.org
www.alliancechristiancenter.org
https://www.alliancechristiancenter.org
One problem is this is the link that the google search page surfaces…so people are unable to access the site.
https://alliancechristiancenter.org
Also, how long does it take google to point to the new site, because most of the subpages under the google search are pointing to the old wordpress site.
I have worked with BlueHost, they say the DNS is set up as expected for google site...I really can't get in touch with anyone at google to assist, so I am looking for a company that I could pay for support.
