IT Admin & Support -- 2
Budget: $15 – $25 CAD
I am a web & IT contractor/freelancer and am ready to begin expanding my business and delegating my workload. One of my roles is System Administration.
I am looking for someone located in Oakville/Burlington who work on various systems. Requests vary from client to client, some clients use Google Workspace and require user setups, or trouble-shooting and configuration. Some clients use AWS, GCP, or other SaaS and require maintenance, support and configuration. Also, to assist customers remotely. These requests are typically windows-based or program-based issues. I'll be available to guide you initially, until you can manage tickets on your own. Ticket resolutions and time tracking will be logged in the help desk.
As I don't have a physical location you will work from home. You'll need your own computer, with a high-speed internet connection, as well as a webcam/mic when needed.
In terms of hours, they will be small initially, but gradually expanding into a full-time or part-time role depending on your availability.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work
Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
Maintain procedures and documentation in the knowledge-base
Install and configure software and computer systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware
Walk colleagues or clients through steps to help them resolve their technical problems
Maintain procedures and documentation in the knowledge-base
Ensure you respond to client tickets within a reasonable time and log all actions/close off ticket in the Help Desk
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science
Proven work experience in Systems Admin
Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of systems and applications (GCP, AWS, Zoho, etc)
Ability to solve technical problems and see tickets through to completion
People-friendly attitude when talking to clients
Able to work with other colleagues and departments if needed
Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous tickets at one time
Experience in application integration and cloud computing
Creating volumes, assigning to servers and remote replication
