Dog Gear: Tech Pack Review and Design Consultation
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I’m launching a line of dog gear (harnesses, leashes). I have a basic tech pack with a flat pattern and am looking for a specialist for a one-time review of the documentation and a design consultation before moving to production.
Responsibilities / Scope of Work
What needs to be done:
Audit of the tech pack: verify component specifications, measurement chart, and construction details for sewn assemblies
Check load-bearing points and potential failure zones against the functional requirements of dog gear
Evaluate ergonomics of the design in relation to canine anatomy (chest plate, neck girth, girth strap)
Provide a written report outlining what is correct, what needs adjustment, and what is missing
Optional: create a mock-up in muslin (calico) as a test sample to assess fit — to be discussed separately
Requirements
Critical skills:
Experience in designing technical products: pet gear, equipment, backpacks, tactical gear, equestrian tack — any of these areas
Understanding of material load characteristics: webbing, hardware (carabiners, buckles, rings) under dynamic loads
Knowledge of construction techniques for webbing products: stitch types, reinforcement, bartacking
Ability to read and review production-grade tech packs (not just illustrations)
Nice to have: experience with CAD systems (Grafis, Lectra, Optitex, or similar), but not required
