Windows 11 Driver for External Touchscreen
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a 3M USB Touchscreen – EX II that i have tested and works on older motherboard / OS, but refuses to cooperate with Windows 11 when connected to my surface pro 7 tablet. I’m stuck at the driver stage— Windows identifies it as "Other devices" and not a "HID Compliant" touch screen.
The actual screen works fine as an external monitor, but since there are no driver, the touch functionality do not work. Might be other reason ofcourse, but what i am looking for here is help to make the touch-fuctionality work.
The actual touch input has its own connection, both usb-b and serial port. I have tried 5 different cables, so pretty sure i can rule out that it is the cable-connection that is the issue. Windows finds the touchscreen and puts it in "other devices". There are no drivers through windows search and cannot find any on google search as well. Been in contact with those who delivered the screen and 3M, but no drivers is availible from them.
Here’s what I need:
• Locate or build a fully functional Windows 11-compatible driver package for the touch screen.
• Confirm multitouch accuracy and correct touch-point mapping after installation.
• Produce clean installation instructions that a non-expert can follow (INF signing, driver enforcement bypass if required, rollback steps).
• Optionally include a short troubleshooting guide covering common pitfalls in Windows 11 (unsigned driver blocks, USB power management, HID registry tweaks).
You could have remote access to the Windows 11 based Surface tablet if needed, or you can supply the signed driver and step-by-step notes for me to run locally. The goal is simple: tap the screen and get an immediate, accurate response—no ghost touches, no device-manager warnings. Help get this touchscreen to work.
