HV Substation Design & Commissioning
Budget: £5 – £10 GBP
I’m looking for a senior electrical engineer who can take full ownership of high-voltage substation projects—from the first sketch through energisation. Your remit will cover design, installation oversight, as well as complete testing and commissioning.
You’ll translate our functional requirements into single-line diagrams, detailed wiring diagrams, and protection-and-control schematics that satisfy IEC/IS standards. Once approved, you will guide or supervise on-site contractors during equipment installation, then carry out all protection-relay, CT/PT, transformer and functional tests needed for a clean hand-over to operations.
Ideal background
• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Demonstrated experience delivering HV substations (132 kV and above is a plus)
• Deep familiarity with modern protection systems, CT/PT test methods and commissioning best practices
Engagement can be daily, monthly or by project. Design tasks may be handled remotely; site work will be arranged as required. I offer competitive, milestone-based compensation and the flexibility to work from home when you’re not on site.
