Restaurant Fault Current Calculation

Job ID: 39897866

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I run a small restaurant that is fed by a three-phase service, 50-100 kVA in total, and everything lands in a single main panel. I need to know the available fault current at that panel so I can be sure my breakers, disconnects, and any future upgrades stay within code.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

• A clear, step-by-step short-circuit calculation based on the utility transformer size, service conductors, and feeder lengths.
• A concise report (PDF or Excel) showing assumptions, formulas, and the final fault current value at the bus bars.
• A brief note on whether the existing main breaker’s AIC rating is adequate, plus any quick recommendations if it is not.

If you prefer ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or an in-house spreadsheet, that’s fine—just document the inputs so I can follow the math. Accuracy and clarity matter more to me than fancy graphics, but a single-line diagram or screenshot of the model would be helpful.

Deliverables should let me hand the report straight to my electrician and AHJ without extra tweaks.
