Adult Ceramics Workshop Instructor Needed
Budget: $50 – $0 USD
I’m setting up a series of small-group ceramics workshops for adult beginners and need an experienced ceramist who enjoys teaching. Each session will cover the full journey from centering clay on the wheel through basic hand-building forms and, finally, glazing and finishing.
Here’s what I have in mind:
• Six weekend classes, 3 hours each, held in my studio (equipped with Shimpo wheels, a mid-range electric kiln, wedging tables and all standard tools).
• Clear demonstrations of wheel throwing fundamentals—centering, opening, pulling walls—followed by guided practice.
• A complementary hand-building segment (pinch, coil and slab techniques) so students leave with multiple finished pieces.
• A final glazing lesson that explains surface prep, glaze application and firing safety.
I’ll handle logistics, clay and firing schedules; you bring your expertise, sample pieces and a concise lesson plan outlining learning objectives for every class. By the end, participants should each have at least two wheel-thrown and two hand-built glazed items ready for pickup.
If this scope fits your teaching style, let’s discuss dates, your fee structure and any materials you’d like me to stock ahead of time.
