Preparing 1040 NR for 2021 Tax Year (US Taxes)
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I have an investment account in the U.S. which was opened before I relocated from the US to the UK.
Gains, dividends and interest from this investment account have traditionally been filed with a standard 1040 for past years (which I have prepared using TurboTax every year).
However for the tax year 2021, I was not resident in the U.S and am therefore required to file a 1040 NR as a non-resident.
In 2021, my investment account generated ~$3,500 of dividends, ~$300 of nondividend distributions, ~$10 of interest and $5000 of gains.
Although this is a simple & straightfoward tax filing to prepare, it is the first time I am preparing a 1040 NR and so I would prefere the help an experienced tax accountant who is familiar with non-resident tax filings to prepare the filing (including the computations).
I will prove my 1099.
I have no other income in the U.S. so the preparation will be limited what I have stated above.
I will submit the filing myself.
