Franchise Tax Issue Resolved
Budget: $25 ā $50 USD
Work Needed
Review and resolve a California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) matter dating back to 2019.
My dissolved Iowa-based production company (Joeclarkecity, Inc.) was mistakenly flagged as owing California franchise tax.
I already filed and paid in Iowa for that year; California maintains I still owe despite documentation.
Prior accountant submitted a written response + supporting documents (Iowa returns, Articles of Dissolution, federal filings), but FTB did not release the claim.
Goal: negotiate or abate penalties/interest and ideally reduce liability closer to the original ~$1,500 amount.
I do not have extensive invoices from that period; need help building a reasonable documentation package from available tax returns and dissolution papers.
Communicate directly with the FTB on my behalf, provide updates, and guide toward final resolution.
Deliverable: formal resolution/closure of the 2019 case with the FTB.
What Iām Looking For
Licensed CPA, EA, or tax attorney with direct experience handling California FTB disputes.
Clear, upfront fee structure (flat rate preferred; hourly okay if capped).
Someone who can explain the process clearly, provide timelines, and work toward closure within a few months.
