Job Description: CPA / Tax Accountant
Position Overview:
A highly regarded boutique CPA firm located in Monterey County, is seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review complex individual, business (1120, 1120S, and 1065), and trust tax returns.
• Provide strategic tax planning services, particularly for high-net-worth individuals and businesses.
• Generate, analyze, and present financial data to stakeholders with precision and clarity.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, fostering teamwork and growth within the firm.
• Stay updated on tax regulations and proactively identify opportunities to ensure compliance and maximize client benefits.
• Collaborate with team members to provide "outside-the-box" solutions, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy.
Qualifications:
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of current, proven tax experience within a Public Accounting Firm, including corporate, individual, and/or partnership taxation.
• Certification: Active California CPA license required.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Thomson Reuters Practice CS, UltraTax, Sureprep, Workpaper CS, and/or QuickBooks (desktop, online, enterprise) is a plus.
• Leadership: Previous supervisory experience with the ability to train and develop staff preferred.
• Exceptional technical and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a desire to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
