Abstract Phoenix Tattoo Design

Design a bold, masculine phoenix for my upper arm in an abstract style, using only red and black ink. The piece should sit comfortably in the medium range—roughly 5-8 inches—so it flows with the arm’s natural contours without wrapping completely around it.

Key aesthetic notes
• The overall look must lean masculine: sharp, dynamic lines and strong negative-space contrasts rather than soft flourishes.
• Wings and tail can be stylised, but the bird’s silhouette should remain recognisable at a glance.
• Please hide the letters “Mae” within the plumage or flames; they need to be legible on close inspection yet invisible at first glance.
• Colour palette is limited to solid black and a single tone (or subtle gradient) of red—no shading outside those two colours.

Deliverables
• High-resolution digital artwork (vector preferred: .AI, .EPS, or .SVG) plus a 300 dpi flattened .PNG for my tattooist’s stencil.
• One mock-up showing approximate placement on a generic arm template to confirm scale and flow.
• Simple annotation layer that points out where “Mae” is concealed.

I’ll review an initial concept sketch before moving to final linework and colour, so please allow for one revision round between those stages.
