Ex-FAANG Principal Engineer for Game Discovery
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Title: ex-FAANG Principal Frontend Engineer
Summary
The Mission:
We're building a game discovery platform. We need a sharp Typescript/React Engineer who can take a design and bring it to life with clean code and a great user experience.
For the initial phase, your primary focus will be building reusable, templatized UI pages based on provided designs. You won’t need to implement full backend functionality yet—just ensure that components like buttons and interactive elements behave as expected from a UX standpoint (e.g., hover states, active states, visual transitions).
We've included mockups with this job description. You'll receive a Figma file and an iframe embed code—your task will be to generate the corresponding frontend code that brings the design to life.
What You'll Do:
- Build the entire UI as per the mockup, from the navigation sidebar to the footer
- Develop our core React component library, including the interactive game cards, search bar, and filter tags
- Implement the responsive, dark & light themed grid layout using expert-level CSS (Flexbox & Grid)
- Use Redux to manage the UI state for the genre filters and real-time search results
- Connect to our games API to populate the grid with dynamic content
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience with vite
- Must have used tailwind for CSS
- Must have used Mantine
- Must use Typescript as a part of your preferred tech stack / a language you very regularly code in
- Deep experience with React (Hooks should be second nature)
- Proven skill with Redux for managing complex, filterable state
- Mastery of modern CSS
- Proficiency with Git, REST APIs, and modern build tools
- Bonus: Experience with Vite
We're hoping to make this hire ASAP.
You will be asked to answer the following questions when submitting a proposal:
Do you have prior professional experience with Vite? Also, have you used tailwind for CSS? Also, have you used Redux to manage UI state? Have you used Mantine? Lastly, have you used Figma Dev?
Have you worked for a Fortune 500 North American software company? Please do not apply if you have only worked at TCS, Infosys, etc.
Is Typescript a part of your preferred tech stack and a language you regularly code in? Additionally, in 1-2 sentences, describe the most technically impressive project or feature you built using React, focusing on the specific challenges you overcame.
Have you ever designed, developed, and deployed a web application by yourself? At what scale was this application deployed (e.g. concurrent users)?
