Calculate Year To Date and Previous Year Sales in Tableau

Work Involves following:
1. Create a “Dimension Filter” (Not a parameter) for “Year” and “Month”.
2. Create a “Calculated field” for:
• “Selected Year and Month Sales” based upon “Year” and “Month” selected by user in above “Filter”.
• “Previous Year and Month sales” based upon “Year” and “Month” selected by user in above “Filter”.
3. For example, there is “Order Date” field in Data Source where there is sales data from 01/01/2019 till today 08/13/2021. Create a “Year” and “Month” “Filter” based on “Order Date” field. Say user selects year 2021 in the “Year Filter” and “Jan and Feb” month in “Month Filter” then “Year To Date Sales” should display sales for Jan and Feb 2021 and “Previous Year Sales” should display sales for “Jan and Feb 2020”.
