Project Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and specialised engineer to review, verify, and enhance a Verification Requirements Traceability Matrix (VRTM) developed for a major infrastructure project. The objective is to ensure alignment with Australian standards, industry best practices, and real-world applications in complex engineering environments such as tunnels, transport networks, and large-scale civil works.
The deliverable is part of a structured Design Governance and Requirements Management Pack and requires expert validation to confirm completeness, compliance, and accuracy.
Scope of Work
The selected professional will:
Review and validate the existing Verification Requirements Traceability Matrix (VRTM).
Ensure alignment with relevant Australian Standards, codes, and regulations.
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks within the matrix.
Recommend enhancements to improve compliance, traceability, and clarity.
Verify alignment between requirements, verification methods, and deliverables.
Provide practical insights based on experience in major infrastructure projects.
Suggest additional requirements or controls where necessary.
Deliver a marked-up VRTM and a concise review report.

Preferred Candidate Profile
Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent.
Proven experience in major infrastructure projects, including:
Tunnels
Rail and metro systems
Roads and highways
Airports or utilities
Strong background in systems engineering, design management, or assurance.
Demonstrated experience with requirements management and traceability matrices (VRTM/RTM).
Familiarity with Australian regulatory and compliance environments.
Excellent analytical and technical reporting skills.
Deliverables
Reviewed and annotated VRTM (Excel format).
Gap analysis and recommendations report (PDF or Word).
Summary of compliance with Australian standards.
List of suggested additions and improvements.
