I have Dell T150 and Ubuntu Server Setup in Middlesbrough

A brand-new rack-mount server has just arrived at our Middlesbrough site and must be prepared for production. Ubuntu is the chosen operating system, and I want the machine installed, fully updated, and secured on-site.

The job covers everything from drive partitioning and RAID or LVM configuration (if appropriate) through to hardening, creating an administrative user, enabling SSH, configuring the firewall, and verifying that the server boots cleanly without intervention. Once the core install is complete I’d also like you to walk me through the configuration and leave a concise post-install report so future maintenance is straightforward.

If time allows, I’m open to your advice on loading a standard LAMP stack, Node.js or Docker to match the workloads we’ll be running, but the priority is getting a clean, stable Ubuntu base in place today.

Please be comfortable working physically in Middlesbrough, bring any bootable media or tools you prefer, and plan for a short acceptance test at the end to confirm networking, remote access and basic security are all functioning as expected.
