Windows & Linux System Setup
Budget: $11 – $12 USD
I need an experienced system administrator to take charge of preparing and configuring both Windows and Linux environments from the ground up. On the Windows side that means installing the OS, enabling the required roles and features, creating baseline GPOs and user groups, and ensuring remote management is locked down. For Linux, I primarily work with Ubuntu and CentOS; the job involves fresh installs, package hardening, service configuration, and setting up SSH-based administration.
Because this is the first phase of a broader operations overhaul, solid documentation is essential. I expect concise build notes, a repeatable checklist for each platform, and a short verification report showing that every machine boots cleanly, responds to basic health checks, and is reachable over the agreed-upon management ports.
Deliverables:
• Fully installed and configured Windows Server and Linux instances
• Hardened default configs (users, firewall, services)
• Step-by-step build documentation and post-deployment health report
If you are comfortable switching between PowerShell and Bash, keep security top of mind, and can deliver clear documentation, let’s get started.
