Web App Backup Testing

I’ve built a browser-based platform and I want a pair of fresh, highly technical eyes—ideally someone with a system-administration background—to stress-test the entire data-backup side of the project and tell me where it shines or breaks.

Here’s the scope in a nutshell: the application already takes scheduled backups to an off-site store, and offers point-in-time restores through the UI. I need you to put that workflow through its paces. Trigger automated and manual backups, simulate failure scenarios, restore to different environments, check file-level integrity, verify database consistency, and document every step. I’m interested in real-world observations rather than canned lab results, so feel free to script loads, pull cables, throttle bandwidth, or spin up containers—whatever mirrors production chaos.

What I expect to receive:
• A concise test plan outlining how you approached backup reliability, restoration, and integrity checks
• Screenshots or logs that prove each stage was executed (mask any sensitive data)
• A punch-list of findings ranked by severity, plus practical recommendations I can implement right away
• A short debrief call or written summary to walk me through the highlights

You can work with common tooling—bash, PowerShell, rsync, mysqldump, pg_restore, AWS S3 CLI, or your own preferred stack—as long as the evidence is clear and repeatable. Access to a staging environment and dummy data will be provided the moment we kick off.
