Position Overview

We are urgently hiring a System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to set up our OVH VPS with Ubuntu OS. The main tasks include configuring a self-hosted MySQL database (not OVH managed) and installing essential libraries like FFmpeg. This work must be completed before tomorrow evening.

Responsibilities

Configure OVH VPS running Ubuntu.

Install and secure a self-hosted MySQL server:

Ensure it runs locally on the VPS.

Create databases and users with proper roles/permissions.

Harden MySQL against unauthorized access.

Install and configure FFmpeg on Ubuntu.

Verify that FFmpeg works with project commands.

Install additional required libraries and dependencies.

Perform basic security hardening (UFW firewall, SSH configuration, fail2ban if needed).

Provide a step-by-step document of the entire setup.

Requirements

Immediate availability (able to start today).

Strong expertise in Ubuntu server administration.

Proven experience with OVH VPS hosting.

Skilled in self-hosted MySQL installation and configuration.

Hands-on experience with FFmpeg setup and troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of Linux security and best practices.

Ability to complete the work before tomorrow evening.

Deliverables (Deadline: Tomorrow Evening)

Fully configured OVH VPS (Ubuntu).

MySQL self-hosted database installed, running, and secured.

FFmpeg installed and tested successfully.

Security configuration applied.

Clear documentation of all setup steps.
