Secure Windows Laptop for Kids
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I’d like my Windows laptop configured so my children (aged 10-15) can use it safely without constant supervision. The setup must:
• Enforce daily and weekly time limits that automatically log them out when the allowance is reached.
• Block a list of questionable or distracting websites I will provide, and make it easy for me to add or remove sites later.
• Prevent access to specific applications and system areas I choose, while leaving school-related programs untouched.
• Let me trigger a remote log-off or shutdown from my own account or phone whenever homework needs attention.
I don’t have a preferred tool yet and would appreciate your guidance on whether the built-in Windows family settings are enough or if a third-party suite (e.g. Qustodio, Norton Family, Microsoft Family Safety, etc.) would serve us better. Please explain the pros, cons, and any additional costs before you begin so I can decide.
Deliverables
1. Parental-control solution installed, configured, and tested on one Windows laptop.
2. A brief step-by-step PDF or doc outlining how I can adjust rules, add websites/apps to the block list, and use the remote log-off feature.
3. A short hand-over session (video or chat) to walk me through the controls and confirm everything works as expected.
The work can be done via remote desktop at a mutually convenient time. I’m ready to start right away and will provide administrator access when we schedule the session.
