Fix MySQL Startup on Ubuntu

I’m running an Ubuntu VPS at Contabo and the machine refuses to come up cleanly. On boot I see the messages:

• “Failed to start Wait for Network”
• “Failed to start LSB: start and stop MySQL”

After that it stalls at “Finished Record Runlevel Change in UTMP.”
SSH never becomes available, so the only access I have is through the VNC console. I already tried a full reboot from the provider panel, but the same symptoms return. At this point I’m not even sure whether other services are broken—the first priority is getting MySQL to start reliably.

What I need from you
1. Diagnose why the MySQL service fails during boot and bring it up without manual intervention.
2. Resolve whatever network dependency is blocking the “Wait for Network” target so the system completes its boot sequence.
3. Restore normal SSH accessibility once the underlying issues are fixed.
4. Provide a brief summary of the root cause and the exact commands or configs you changed so I can document the solution.
