Experienced System Administrator for QNAP NAS Setup

I am looking for an experienced system administrator who can fully set up and configure a QNAP TS-1655 NAS server (16 bays, 8 GB RAM).

Scope of Work
1. Initial Setup
• Install and configure QTS operating system
• Configure RAID (performance and redundancy optimization)
• Initialize storage pools and volumes
2. Users and Permissions
• Create and manage ~50 user accounts
• Set permissions and quotas for shared folders
3. Network and Remote Access
• Configure secure remote access (VPN or secure web access)
• Optimize LAN/WAN connections and firewall settings
4. Backup and Security
• Configure automated backups (local + cloud)
• Set up snapshots for data protection
• Apply NAS security best practices (2FA, encryption, antivirus, firewall rules)
5. Applications and Services
• Install and configure QNAP applications (Qsync, Hybrid Backup Sync, File Station)
• Enable multimedia/streaming services (Video Station, Plex, or similar)
• Deploy and optimize dedicated game servers (CS:GO and Minecraft)
• Prepare and configure paid storage services for clients (quotas, packages, access management)
6. Monitoring and Maintenance
• Set up system monitoring, notifications, and logging
• Provide documentation for all configurations
• Recommend long-term maintenance and scaling strategies



Requirements
• Proven experience with QNAP NAS devices (TS series preferred)
• Hands-on experience with game server setup and optimization (CS:GO, Minecraft)
• Strong knowledge of RAID, Linux-based systems, and network security
• Ability to work remotely (screen sharing, remote desktop, etc.)
• Good communication skills in English (Hungarian is a plus)

• Fully operational and secure NAS system, ready for production use
• Deployed and optimized CS:GO and Minecraft servers
• Configured client-facing storage service with quotas and access controls
• Documentation of all setups and configurations
• Recommendations for long-term operations and scaling
