Exchange 2016 Cleanup & Upgrade
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m looking for a Microsoft Exchange specialist who can jump into my on-premises Exchange Server 2016 environment, identify the configuration errors that are holding it back, correct them, and then guide the full in-place upgrade to Exchange Server SE.
Scope of work
• Audit the existing Exchange 2016 setup (mail flow, certificates, virtual directories, receive/send connectors, Active Directory integration).
• Document every configuration error you find, explain the root cause, and apply the required fixes.
• Prepare the environment for Exchange SE: schema/AD prep, hardware and OS checks, prerequisite installation.
• Perform the upgrade, migrate all databases and services, and keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
• Run post-upgrade validation—verify mail flow, client connectivity (Outlook, OWA, mobile), and backup/monitoring hooks.
• Hand over a concise report detailing what was changed, why, and any next-step recommendations.
Acceptance criteria
– No unresolved configuration errors or warning events in the Exchange health checks.
– All user mailboxes fully functional on Exchange SE with uninterrupted mail flow.
– Clear rollback plan documented (even if not used).
I will provide remote access during agreed maintenance windows and be available for quick decisions so the engagement can move smoothly. Let me know your experience with similar 2016-to-SE upgrades and when you could start.
