Diagnose GoDaddy VPS CPU Spikes

Job ID: 40272673

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I’m running a lightweight Typeform-style web application on a GoDaddy VPS that ships with AlmaLinux 9 and cPanel/WHM. Although traffic is modest, the CPU suddenly jumps to 100 % at random moments and the site stops responding until the spike subsides. Memory, disk, and network all look normal—my concern is strictly the unexplained CPU saturation.

I’d like you to dive in, reproduce or capture one of these spikes, pinpoint the underlying process or misconfiguration, and recommend (or apply, if straightforward) the fix. You may need to sift through WHM metrics, AlmaLinux system logs, Apache/PHP-FPM or Nginx settings, cron jobs, and any background services that could be misbehaving. If you prefer command-line tools like top, htop, sar, vmstat, or more advanced profilers, feel free; root access can be arranged for the session.

Deliverables
• Clear root-cause report with evidence (log excerpts, screenshots, or command output)
• Configuration or code changes applied (or a step-by-step list if you leave it to me)
• Post-fix validation showing CPU back to stable levels under normal load

Once the spike source is eliminated and the URL responds consistently, the job is complete.
