AlmaLinux WHM Server Tune-Up

Job ID: 40173136

Budget: $40 – $150 USD

I run an AlmaLinux cPanel/WHM server that has started to feel sluggish and I’m convinced it’s down to sub-optimal configuration rather than hardware limits. I need an experienced systems admin to come in, audit everything and leave the box running lean and fast.

Scope of what I’d like you to tackle
• Database performance – analyse the current MySQL/MariaDB settings, query cache, InnoDB buffers and slow-query logs, then implement sane, documented tweaks.
• Network configuration – review TCP stack parameters, connect timeout values, and any WHM networking options that may be throttling throughput or connections.
• Security settings – harden the server without sacrificing speed: firewall rules (CSF/IPTables), SSH, mod_security, kernel parameters, and WHM’s built-in security features.

Current pain point
The server mainly suffers from slow performance during peak traffic; no crashes or obvious compromise so far, just noticeable lag.

Deliverables
1. A brief pre-optimization report summarising bottlenecks you discover.
2. All configuration files you change, backed up and commented.
3. Post-optimization benchmarks that demonstrate measurable improvement (e.g., reduced average query time, faster page load, lower CPU usage).
4. A short hand-over note with recommendations for ongoing maintenance updates.
5. I ideally would prefer the freelancer to work together with my partner via remote access taking into consideration security measures since this server is hosting real customer accounts.

Root access will be available over SSH; work must be performed during an agreed maintenance window to avoid disrupting live sites. Familiarity with WHM/cPanel tooling, AlmaLinux 8+, and common hardening utilities is essential.

If this sounds straightforward to you, let’s talk scheduling and I’ll get you logged in.
