Initial setup of a Fortigate 40F so that it can be accessed via GUI/CLI over a network -- 2
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
==== Please do not just ask to chat ================================
I get bids asking to chat about the project by people who do not read the project.
If you do not understand the project then you are NOT QUALIFIED to bid.
To help me you need to KNOW MORE about Forgate firewalls then me.
So please DO NOT WASTE MY TIME.
If I think you are doing so i will simply delete your message/bid.
==== Initial Engagement ================================
If you ask a question in terms of the project context below then that will signal to some sort of CREDIBILITY.
My biggest problem is weeding out dozens of timewasting bids.
I appreciate any co-operation in this matter. Thank you
==== Setup ================================
I have a Fortgate 40F.
I have CLI access via a console. No GUI access.
I have implemented a factory default.
I have connected "lan1" port to my network.
The uplink port (Port 1) is in a vlan (V96) serviced by a DHCP server.
FG 40F "lan1"----------------------------------Port1--Vlan96--Network Switch
==== Assumptions ==========================
It seems to me that the following is true:
A1 The 4 copper physical ports are named "lan1", "lan2", "lan3". amd "a".
A2 These physical ports are L2 ports and are in a vlan.
A3 The L3 interface for that vlan is called "lan"
==== Objective ===========================
I want to connect to the 40F over the network via CLI and GUI.
==== Problems ================================
P1 I am failing to change the internal interface "lan" from it's fixed IP address to use DHCP (i.e. to obtain a DHCP address itself).
P2 I am failing to successfully torn off STP on the physical port "lan1". I tirn it off but the command does not take. The uplink port on my network is receiving BPDUs from the 40F and putting the port into error-disable
==== Requirements ============================
Requirements for this Project
Project will be deemed complete when the following are met/achieved/solved
R1. To removee the fixed address from the 40F and replace with DHCP setting.
R2. To turn off STP for the port "lan1" that is running on the 40F
==== END =====================================
