Home Network VPN Setup via OpenVPN using Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS

Job ID: 38616144

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm seeking a Linux expert to set up a VPN tunnel from a linux PC to my home network using OpenVPN. This solution should incorporate Dynamic DNS (DDNS), and DHCP for connectivity and enable internet routing through my home network from a remote LINUX PC

The purpose of the setup is to enable me to reside anywhere in the world yet access the internet from my home network (a current requirement for employment) .. Ideally I would establish the vpn using two PCs each running Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS. My company laptop would connect to one of the PC's via ethernet cable. A tunnel would be built to another PC residing in my home which would then connect to my internet connection.

High level data flow

MY Work PC ---> VPN PC1 --- VPN Tunnel -- VPN PC2 ---> MY Home Network Router ---> Internet

Key Requirements:
- Establish a VPN tunnel using OpenVPN (or alternative)
- Configure DDNS for seamless global access
- Configure DNS and DHCP on client VPN host
- Enable routing through my home network to the internet
- Must be available to perform the work this Friday 27th between 7PM - 10PM Eastern Standard Time

I require this setup to have basic encryption for security. The primary device for connecting to the VPN will be my laptop.

Ideally, you should have:
- Extensive experience with Linux and OpenVPN or alternative
- Familiarity with DDNS, DNS and DHCP
- Skills in network configuration and security

Please note, this project does not require high-level encryption or multi-factor authentication. The aim is to have a cost-effective, functional, and secure VPN solution.
