Get website running on ec2 server -- 2

I was following a guide to install a chat tool called chaskiq to a ubuntu server for testing. It is on an aws ec2 server. When I got to it running I found I couldn't connect to it through a web browser. The chat tool is local hosted on port 3000 in the server. I ssh into the server with putty. I need to get it to the point where I or someone else can get to the webpage and interact with it.
