SwiftUI - Pass variable value from child view to parent view

Hello, I am new to SwiftUI and need some help using an ObservalObject with possible a MVVM design pattern.

please take a look at the JourneyPlannerView file. On line 44 I have a variable named : @State private var fromLocDateTime: Date?
I need this value to be populated based on the value the user chooses in the OutwardDateTimeView DatePicker view. I would like this to be achieved using OberservableObject, and if necessary, using a MVVM design pattern.
