Mac Utility Automation App Support in Vancouver CA
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
NOTE: YOU NEED TO BE RESIDE IN VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA
I’m midway through building a macOS utility that streamlines everyday workflows through task automation and keeps an eye on CPU and memory so the automations never become a drain on the system. The core structure is in place; what I need now is a seasoned macOS developer who can both extend the feature set and put the entire app through rigorous testing.
Here’s where your help comes in:
• Task-automation features: polish the existing automation engine, add new scripted actions where necessary, and make sure permission dialogs (Files & Folders, Accessibility, Automation) are handled smoothly.
• Lightweight monitoring: integrate or refine real-time CPU and RAM read-outs using native APIs so users can see the resource impact of each automation at a glance.
• Testing & hardening: create XCTests for the key modules, run UI automation on Ventura and Sonoma, fix edge-case crashes, and supply a concise test report that I can forward to Apple during notarisation.
I’m working in Xcode with Swift (a bit of Objective-C lurking in older helpers), Git for version control, and Swift Package Manager for dependencies. Clean, well-commented commits and short feedback loops are important to me; I’ll review work as soon as each milestone branch is pushed.
Deliverables
1. Updated source code with new or refined automation tasks.
2. CPU & memory monitoring module fully integrated into the status menu.
3. A repeatable test suite (unit + UI) with clear pass/fail criteria.
4. Final build that compiles without warnings and is ready for notarisation, plus a brief test summary document.
If you’ve shipped macOS utilities before—especially ones involving background agents or system permissions—you’ll feel right at home. Let’s connect and get this app production-ready.
