Project Overview
We are scaling fast and need an experienced freelance expert to lead and/or support end-to-end Double Materiality Assessments (DMA) for our European and international clients.
The methodology we follow is the 6-step Datamaran approach (Setup → IRO identification → Assessment → Validation → Reporting → Ongoing monitoring). Real-life examples we admire and use as benchmarks: Pandora 2024, Vestas 2024, and academic/industry research from Dr. Saeid Habibi (UPC Barcelona).
Scope of Work (you can bid on the full package or on specific modules)
Set-up & Governance
– Map client value chain and governance structure
– Design DMA project plan and stakeholder engagement strategy
Identification of Impacts, Risks & Opportunities (IROs)
– Build long-list of 50–100 potential IROs using score-based + survey-based screening
– Use external signals (regulations, peers, media, NGOs) and internal data
Impact & Financial Materiality Assessment
– Define thresholds (severity, likelihood, scale, irremediability, financial thresholds)
– Quantify impacts in physical and monetary terms where possible
– Run stakeholder consultations / SME interviews
Validation & Executive Presentation
– Prepare materiality matrix and audit trail
– Present to C-level for sign-off
Reporting
– Map material IROs to ESRS disclosure requirements (ESRS E1–E5, S1–S4, G1)
– Draft the Sustainability Statement sections (text + datapoints) ready for assurance
Optional add-ons (higher budget)
– Build automated ongoing monitoring dashboard (Python / Power BI / similar)
– EU Taxonomy eligibility & alignment screening
– Sector-specific deep dives (construction, wind energy, jewellery, etc.)
Deliverables
– Full Double Materiality Report + Excel workbook with scoring, thresholds and audit trail
– PowerPoint for executive validation
– ESRS content table + draft narrative ready for the annual report
– All files structured for external limited assurance
