Subtitling & Closed Captioning: Japanese to English
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
We are looking for an experienced Japanese Translator based in Singapore or Malaysia to support ongoing Subtitling and Closed Captioning (CC) projects on a freelance basis.
Scope of Work:
Translate Japanese content into English for subtitles and closed captions.
Or translate English content into Japanese depending on the project.
Ensure accurate translation, localization, and cultural adaptation.
Create and/or review subtitles in accordance with industry standards.
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper synchronization.
Requirements:
Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese (Singapore or Malaysia based preferred but not strict).
Excellent command of English and Japanese.
Prior experience in Subtitling and Closed Captioning projects.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
Familiar with subtitle software (Aegisub, Subtitle Edit, or similar) is a plus.
