structural engineer to verify a carport roof cable support
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I have a carport that is 36 feet long and 11 feet wide with one side supported by the house and the other by 7 posts each bolted down and 6 feet apart.
I want to remove 2 posts and replace them with cables on top and on the bottom so the load is carried by the post 12 feet in from the outermost corner.
The cables will be installed just like bridge support cables per the attached drawing.
The carport must be able to hold 15 inches of snow.
