Structural Engineer to Design Steel Beam Designs for Single Storey Extension
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
Small single-storey extension to the rear of my property and looking for a Structural Engineer who could design 2no. steel beams I require – ‘Beam A’ & ‘Beam B’. (See attached drawings).
Beam A - To support new flat roof structure and cantilever a section of it as windows below will be uPVC. I could introduce steel posts/frame between the uPVC windows to support the edge of the roof and possibly do away with ‘Beam A’ however I feel this would be more work and cost. I have shown the size of the Beam for now as a 95mm x 195mm and hoping it shouldn’t need to be any bigger, smaller would be better.
Beam B - To support the edge of the existing flat roof to allow removal of the external wall that is currently supporting it. The edge of the new flat roof will also sit on this as a continuation of the existing flat roof. I have shown the size of the Beam for now as a 95mm x 195mm and hoping it shouldn’t need to be any bigger, smaller would be better.
Are you able to size each beam for my builder, including providing calcs for a recently submitted Building Regs App?
