Steel Estimator & Detailer Needed
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I’m looking for reliable support on an ongoing basis to prepare accurate steel takeoffs for my bid packages and, once a project is awarded, to generate complete bills of material and clean shop drawings for fabrication.
Most of my work revolves around staircases, handrails, lintels and other connection items, so familiarity with the typical profiles, gauges and weld details for these elements is essential. For the estimating phase I need clear takeoff sheets that spell out the exact material quantities and all critical dimensions and sizes; cost breakdowns are handled in-house, so you can leave pricing out.
When we win a job, I’ll send you the architectural and structural sets together with my mark-ups. From there I will expect a fabrication-ready BOM and shop drawings that align with AISC standards. AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Tekla or an equivalent detailing platform is fine—as long as layer naming, call-outs and revision control are tidy and consistent.
Deliverables I will review against:
• Excel or CSV takeoff file showing item tags, lengths, weights and quantities
• BOM matched 1:1 to drawing call-outs
• PDF (and original CAD) shop drawings with section views, weld symbols and hole charts
If you have a question about a connection or see a way to save material, flag it early so we can value-engineer before release. Turnaround for most bid packages is three to five days, with faster deadlines on smaller addenda.
