Seismic Pallet Rack FEA Simulation

Job ID: 40470189

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

I need a finite-element analysis that verifies the seismic stability of a set of stacked pallet racks. I will hand over:

• Clean 3D geometry of the rack and its payload
• The accelerogram to apply as the seismic excitation
• A layout drawing that shows how the racks are arranged in the warehouse

While running the model, please make sure you explicitly account for seismic load intensity, the rack’s material properties, and the connection details between components. My top concern is the safety of personnel, so I’m looking for clear evidence that no collapse or hazardous displacement occurs during the earthquake record I provide.

Priority goes to candidates who can work in freeware environments—ideally PrePoMax or Mecway—so the project files are easy for me to review later.

Deliverables I expect:
1. The ready-to-run solver input file (PrePoMax / Mecway format) with all boundary conditions, contacts, and material definitions in place.
2. A brief PDF that lists underlying assumptions, any simplifications you introduced, and a table of the key stability metrics you monitored (e.g., maximum inter-story drift, connection forces, safety factors).
3. Screenshots or short animations are welcome if they help illustrate the rack’s behaviour, but the solver file itself is essential.

If you see extra checks that improve personnel safety, feel free to propose them—just keep the workflow transparent so I can replicate your results.
