Massachusetts Home Drafting Plans
Budget: $1,000 – $2,000 USD
I have a one–story modern-farmhouse under design and I now need permit-ready drawings that comply with the Massachusetts residential building code. The immediate scope covers two drafting packages: complete dimensioned floor plans and exterior elevations. Both sets must be detailed enough for town approval and builder use, showing all code-required notes, egress paths, window and door schedules, and energy-code data.
Because this project will go straight to the building department, I also need the structural sheets—framing plans, typical sections, and connection details—so a structural engineering background or a close collaboration with an engineer is essential. All work has to align with current 9th Edition MA State Building Code (780 CMR) and reference the stretch energy code where it applies.
Final deliverables (PDF + CAD):
• Dimensioned floor plan
• Four exterior elevations
• Foundation & framing plans with supporting structural notes
• Building sections/details sufficient for permit submission
* Roof view from above with dimensions for solar panel planning
I’ll provide my preliminary sketches, lot information, and any surveys within a week of agreeing to terms. My preliminary sketches are fairly comprehensive, done with Plan7Architect software. Let me know your turnaround time and the software you’ll draft in—AutoCAD, Revit, or another tool that can export to DWG. The floor plan provided is similar but will be significantly modified.
