Indoor Load Support Beam

Job ID: 37785249

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I'm seeking a skilled civil or structural engineer to conduct an in-depth load analysis for a steel beam designed to support static loads in an indoor environment. This project is vital for ensuring the safety and structural integrity of our upcoming construction project. This is a 1600 square foot 2 story house that on the lower floor currently has a center load bearing wall that spans all the way across from one side to the other. The span distance is 22 feet. It is a mountain property so there will be snow. We want to replace it with small partial walls on either side and a steel beam or a wooden beam (we were planning on using (4) 2x10s).

**Key Requirements:**

- Detailed calculation of the maximum load the beam can safely support.
- Consideration of the specifications of the indoor environment where the beam will be installed.
- Identification of the optimal type of steel beam for our specific needs.

**Ideal Skills and Experience:**

- Proficient in structural engineering principles, particularly in load analysis and steel structures.
- Experienced in designing and calculating the load capacity of steel beams for indoor use.
- Knowledge of the latest building codes and standards relevant to steel construction.
- Proficient with engineering software for structural analysis.

This project is crucial for the planning and safety of our construction, so thoroughness and attention to detail are paramount.
