In Jacksonville Florida we seek a structural engineer to determine whether the stucco-cladding of our 13 condo buildings can be reconditioned in a phased fashion over an 8-year period without fear of structural mishap.
The engineer would determine whether the flaws in the 3-coat stucco (1) denote mere surface imperfections or (2) embody substantial structural deterioration.
If we proceed with the 8-year reconditioning plan, we will often need engineering consultations throughout the 8 years.
We have a few assessment reports for similar buildings, but not for these 13 whose defects may NOT be consequential.
