Dog run door installation.

We are a doggy daycare inhabiting a two-story steel building that we lease. We want to add a doggy door through the wall from inside to our fenced dog run outside. The landlord has requested an assessment by a structural engineer that this won’t negatively impact the integrity of the building. The installer indicates he will need to cut one non-structural stud as well as the steel facia. He may have to re-route one electrical wire. The door is approximately 17 inches wide and 25 inches tall. It will be installed into an 8-inch wall and is installed with a waterproof kit.
