Letter would need to be addressed to Town of Smyrna Building and Codes.

I am needing a letter for building inspector stating the 2 X 10 band on top of wall wont roll.
I have a good drawing, pictures and notes included. I am surprised he is making us get a letter.
Area is old garage with 15 X 27 that had 87 3/4 wall height and they added 10 1/4 to match the main house wall height. The 2 X 10 ring has been there 32 years.
We installed new trusses 24 o.c. over the entire main house and garage area.
REASONING WHY THE 2 X 10 CAN'T ROLL
1. We installed 24" metal straps every 4 feet tying it to wall studs.
2. We have diagonal bracing in attic area from main house trusses into the new garage trusses.
3. We installed 7/16 OSB on top of trusses continuous across main house and garage.
4 We have hurricane clips on every truss per commercial code.
I have been framing and building almost 40 years. I feel the inspector was just looking for something.
This job is a 70's Ranch being converted into offices.
