Design Beams to support a 2nd floor of residential home
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am removing (2) walls, and placing beams to support the 2nd floor and roof. 1 beam will have posts at both ends beam length to be 15'-0" supported with 2 or 3 2x4's on each end., the 2nd beam will have posts at 1 end and supported on top of the 1st beam on the other end. This length is 12'-0" 2nd floor has bedroom living space. See sketch.
I am open to using LvL's and Steel plate, I beams or C-Channels if they will fit in a 2x4 wall.
