Commercial Mixed-Use Road Design

Job ID: 40286608

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I’m preparing a full design package for a new commercial road that must safely handle a mixed flow of light cars, motorcycles, heavy trucks, and buses. The brief goes beyond basic pavement geometry: pedestrians need dedicated walkways, cyclists must have protected lanes, and the junctions will be signal-controlled for efficient traffic management.

The work starts at concept level and carries through to construction-ready drawings. Horizontal and vertical alignment, structural pavement layers sized for heavy axle loads, intersection geometry, drainage, signage, and complete traffic-signal layouts have to be covered. CAD output in Civil 3D, OpenRoads, or an equivalent professional platform is essential so the files can slot straight into our existing workflow.

Deliverables
• Scaled plan and profile sheets with cross-sections showing carriageway, walkways, and cycle lanes
• Pavement design report (traffic loading assumptions, layer thickness calculations, materials specs)
• Traffic-signal plans including phasing and controller schedule
• Safety audit notes plus any value-engineering recommendations
• Bill of Quantities and general construction notes in editable spreadsheets
• Native CAD files, PDFs, and a brief presentation deck summarising key design decisions

The design must conform to current AASHTO (or equivalent) standards and local regulations; I’ll supply the jurisdictional manuals once we start. Please outline the software you intend to use, any similar mixed-use commercial projects you have completed, and the timeframe you need to deliver the full package.
