Certify Wall for Solar Batteries
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My interior wood-frame wall in a residential home must safely carry two photovoltaic backup batteries weighing almost 300 lbs each. Before I mount the units, the fire department wants written, stamped confirmation from a licensed civil or structural engineer that both the wall and the proposed attachment method can handle the combined load..
I attached a document with a lot of detail already as I had already built a wall for the purpose before finding the fire departmant issue (not building dept). If the existing framing is insufficient, please outline the reinforcement required.
Deliverables required:
• Fire Department code says "provide stamped and signed anchorage and/or attachment details from a licensed Civil/Structural engineer"
I'd like to do this in a week but I have some flexibility on the timeline. I need an engineer stamp that will be recognized in California.
