Calculate structure and dimensions for floor, beams, columns and trusses in new residential home
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are in the process of building our new home in Faroe Islands. We are building the house with the Magu Reform system (https://www.magu.de/betonschalung-betonwaende/) and all of the concrete for the lower floor is almost ready.
Next step is to place a metal beam and supporting columns and then build and mount the floor trusses that will be the structure for the upper floor and hold it up. The attached file ("Example floor truss.jpeg") shows an example of how we want it to look.
The floor trusses will be attached to the main beam that spans the length of the house (around 10 meters with two supporting columns. There are also two more columns in the left
We want to use as few floor trusses as possible to save labor costs in building them. Also we want the sum height of the floor trusses and floor plate to be max. 300 mm high. This means that the floor plate will be 18 mm and trusses 282 mm. The Magu Reform building blocks are 300 mm high which is the reason for the 300 mm limit.
The height for the roof trusses should be max 500 mm height.
The height of the bottom floor will be 2.4 meters, meaning that the floor trusses will be mounted at a height of 2.4 meters.

The job:
We have had an engineer to calculate the dimensions, but since we have made some changes, we're looking for someone to re-calculate the dimensions for the following:
- Beam for bottom floor
- Beam for top floor (roof).
- The 4 columns on the bottom floor
- Floor trusses
- Roof trusses
- Provide a manual and detailed drawing for how to mount beams and trusses (which material to use, how much to use, and how to mount it)
