Barge Float and Mooring System Design

MUST BE A LICENSED NAVAL ENGINEER CERTIFIED TO STAMP PROJECTS IN CANADA OR USA.

Scope of work:
1. Design Eight (8) Sections 12m x 2.43mx1.8m barge float modules barges to be built with 1/4 thick plate and C channel and angle internal bracing. Barges to be connected with angle iron and pins. connection of the barges to be engineered with as few pins as possible. Mooring collars to be attached the same way as the barges pin together.
2. Design of the connectors (including covers)
3. Design of the mooring pile collars
4. Structural analysis of the following for the barge modules/assembly:
o Deck load
o Connectors
o Mooring bollard foundations
o Lifting points
o Fender panels
5. Structural analysis of mooring collars
6. Stability analysis for the floats
7. Prepare a structural analysis report detailing the structural analyses conducted
8. Prepare a stability analysis report
9. Prepare a design drawing package for the barges & mooring collars, including:
o Dimensions
o Connectors (between barge modules and between mooring collars and barges)
o Reinforcements for bitts and fenders
o Lifting points
o Manholes
o Ladders
o Load capacity on deck and side walls
o Load capacity on bitts
10. Prepare a fabrication package (shop drawings)
The design will incorporate the following features:
• Reinforcements in the bollard installation areas and fenders installation areas.
• Lifting points.
• Inspection access manholes with their vertical access ladders.
• Load capacity on the deck : 5 Ton/m2 minimum
• Load capacity on the side walls: uniform load per linear meter of 205 KN in the areas provided
for the fenders according to drawings
• Side load capacity: a concentrated load of 300 KN at the points of location of the bollards
according to drawings
