Attorney Representation for Shoddy Construction work from Experienced Contractor

We paid an experienced contractor $50,000+ to construct a horse stable building with storage on the back side and a corral. He has been building for over 20 years and did many other projects on the property. He misrepresented himself in saying he could build a building of this size properly and I believe this was his first time for this type of building. He did everything wrong, We just found this out yesterday when we went up to the ranch and this building had crumbled. He used 12-14' posts and only put them in 2' without concrete. He never bolted the headers into the posts-only used nails. He did not screw the metal roof into the roof framing. He only used nails. No strapping. We had some wind but nothing on the property was damaged, including trees and other metal roofing on other structures. He wants us to put in an insurance claim, but shoddy work would be a fraudulent claim and we will not do that. I need legal remedy. I have much documentation.
