Accredited Structural Safety Report
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
The construction company that recently worked on my property has left the timber balcony—and some adjoining structural elements—in a condition I believe to be unsafe and non-compliant with UK Building Regulations. Photographs, invoices and other evidence are ready for review, but to move the matter forward with the management company I need an independent, professionally-signed structural report prepared by an accredited building surveyor.
Scope of work
• Attend site (Greater London) to inspect the walls, supporting posts, fixings and any hidden members associated with the balcony structure.
• Verify workmanship and materials against current Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Document every instance of poor practice or non-compliance, cross-referencing photographs I supply and any you take on site.
• Provide clear, itemised findings and risk ratings.
• Include detailed, actionable recommendations for rectification, with indicative sequencing or prioritisation where safety is a concern.
Deliverable
A stamped PDF report (and Word copy) that I can forward to the management company and, if required, to legal representatives. The report should be sufficiently thorough to stand up to an independent engineering review.
Timeframe
Ideally I would like the inspection completed within the next two weeks, with the report delivered no later than one week after the visit.
Please confirm your accreditation, professional indemnity cover and earliest available inspection date when you reply.
