Must know how to program point estimation in the normal distribution case.,confidence
intervals, especially for pairwise measurements and for p in the binomial distribution case
when the normal approximation used.
Must also know how to program t-tests for normally distributed data.
Project tasks 4h to complete and consists of 5 questions.
Skills needed:
Probability theory: outcome spaces, events and probabilities. Conditional probabilities. Independent events. Stochastic variables, expectation, variance and standard deviation. Special attention is given to normal, exponential, binomial and Poisson distributions. the central limit theorem
Statistics: estimation of parameters by different methods. confidence intervals for one or more samples from the normal distribution, binomial distribution and Poisson distribution hypothesis testing, in particular chi-square testing regression lines and something about multiple linear regression. histograms.
