I want to compare between the academic performance of Nursing students before and after COVID-19 adjustment in terms of grades as academic achievement indicator. The study aims to compare nursing students' academic performance in the adult nursing course (which is clinical course) before and after COVID-19 pandemic. the dependent variable is the students' performance while the independent variable is the adjustments of students with the Adult nursing course.
So, to determine any differences in the grades before and after the adjustments, t-tests, and analysis of variance will be used to investigate any significant differences among the scores. Pearson correlation coefficient analysis (r) will be used to test the nature of the relationship between study variables.
Sample size:
Openepi website was used as a sample size calculator. Using a confidence interval of 95%, with power 80%. The mean of the first group was 80.41 and standard deviation was 5.6. with a mean difference of 3.1, score the sample size was calculated as 62. The distribution of the estimated population size for the two selected semesters is as the following;

Fall 2019-2020 = 74
Fall 2020-2021 = 66
A total of six students in each group will be called in think-aloud cognitive interviews, sharing their thoughts on the overall impact of the course on their learning and academic performance.
